The above was shot last year on our third shoot, this time, in the sun yes, I hate shooting models in the harsh midday sun — but we managed to pull this one off brilliantly with perfect placement of the shadows to create a glamour short-lit loop lighting effect.
Now I am not a big workshop fan, as I am the kind of guy who likes to learn things for myself, and when shooting models, having a number of other people in the room with time pressures is not conducive to getting the best results in terms of poses which suit the set lighting and the model.
In addition, art itself can communicate on so many levels that simple words cannot easily achieve.
Showing how much of an amateur I was when I first met Sylph, we arrived at the shoot location to set up and I found that I had left my flash triggers turned on from the previous shoot.
Sylph's grace and form perfectly complements and highlights the grandeur and pristine beauty of this remote and ancient canyon.
I will have much more of the lovely Sylph Sia coming in later posts.
